Online Microteaching.
1. What went well during your online microteaching lesson?
I
effectively engaged learners by using interactive online tools, enhancing their
understanding and participation.
2. What challenges or obstacles did you encounter, and how did you address them?
The primary challenge I faced was network connectivity problems, which disrupted communication and access to online resources during the lesson. As it was my first time teaching online, I was unable to come up with solutions to this challenge. During my reflection, I realised that I could have had a pre recorded lesson or worksheets that learners could have used when I lost my network connection.
3.Did your lesson meet the learning objectives you set out to achieve?
No, not all objectives were met. Due technical issues, I was not able to reach
some of the objectives I was aiming to achieve.
4. Did you choose appropriate ICT tools to teach your online lesson, explain why?
Yes, I chose appropriate ICT tools that facilitated
interaction and engagement. The tools allowed for real-time collaboration,
quizzes like Kahoot, and videos, as these tools made the content more accessible and
engaging for learners.
5. What did you learn from this experience that you can apply to the teaching of this
lesson in the classroom?
From this experience, I learned the importance of being adaptable and having a contingency plan for unexpected challenges, such as technical issues. In a classroom setting, I can apply this by preparing a variety of activities and resources that don't rely on technology.
The most important thing you can do now is reflect on your online lesson. It's great to hear that the learners loved the ICT tools used because that keeps them engaged. Network issues can have a major impact when teaching but your solution shows that you are proactive. It's okay if all your objectives were not met, every lesson has its ups and downs but makes us aware for the next lesson. Keep it up!
